Ang, Eau Claire, WIHillary has been my personal trainer for approximately 1 year. In that short amount of time I have seen changes not only in my energy levels but also in my body. I am what other trainers would call a complex client. I have suffered with asthma and back problems all my life. Hillary met both challenges head on. My posture, due to her workout regime, is the best that it is has ever been. I also am now able to complete an intense hour session of cardio and strength training without reaching for my inhaler. Other challenges that I presented to Hillary over the past year have been a broken finger and a broken foot. Each time she altered and changed our work-outs to target other areas so I would not fall behind. Thanks to Hillary I am now able to keep up with my two kids and my self confidence is better than ever.

Kerry Zurek, Eau Claire, WII have been a member of Highland Fitness for just over two years now. Working out at Highland has, in my eyes, been a privilege; every week, my car faithfully brings me to the gym to exercise among friendly staff and attendees. From what I’ve experienced, everyone treats everyone else with consideration and respect. And thanks to trainers and people that I’ve been able to get to know at Highland, my workout routine has begun to become more versatile; no one is ever too busy to suggest and demonstrate new exercises (or “toys,” as I love to call them), which I eagerly add to my workout routine. Just as versatile as the workout is the conversations I have with trainers and others; we can be engaged in small talk sunny-side-up or get deep into training technique. All conversation that I’ve had with anyone rejuvenates when continuing my exercise. During my stint at Highland, I have noticed some valuable benefits from working out. I have a very stressful job, and when I leave work, my mind is in overdrive. Exercising at Highland opens up the drain in my brain and soon, I notice I can think more clearly. I have also added some muscle to my body and kept off the 50-60 pounds that I took off about four years ago. However, the biggest value from going to Highland is that I get to beat the family medical history; about four years ago, it appeared I was in danger of having diabetes, but thanks to my taking up exercising then---and continuing it at Highland---my doctor has declared me not to be diabetic; my blood sugar and cholesterol levels have been “excellent” since then. My doctor was impressed with my self-motivation in exercising and exclaimed that THAT was the true solution to diabetes! If anyone would have told me five years ago that I would be a fan of the gym, I would deemed them certifiable---now I’m definitely certified! Another thing I like about attending Highland is leaving. Picture this with a flash---as I proceed past the desk and the offices, I get to acknowledge most everyone I see with a wave or some parting words. What a motivational display to keep coming back! I hope the Highland staff realizes just how valuable that is for me.
Kris Tice, Eau Claire, WII am a first grade teacher and keeping up with six year olds requires lots of energy. It’s up and down, to and from the floor and the little chairs. Since joining Highland and working with Brent, my stamina had greatly increased. I feel much better and my body is more flexible with increased balance and stability. I have, and still do seasonal sports, from biking, kayaking, running, hiking, golf, skiing & snow shoeing.I had always done some weight training on my own. About two years ago I joined Highland Fitness, as my club had closed. To get jump started I decided to work with a trainer. Hillary was my choice. I had observed how she worked with her clients, and how she motivated them. Each client seemed to get a work out program custom designed for just them. I saw her work with clients of all ages and she treated them equally the same. When they had their training session she always gave them her undivided attention.I got started two years ago in November. Just before the start of the ski season.Hillary had designed a program focused to x-c skate skiing. I had just started skate skiing that winter. One of the things I needed to focus on was better balance techniques. She incorporated a lot of balance routine in my work out, along with the strength training.As I did my work outs, my skiing became better, and I was much stronger. Over the years I had dealt with knee and wrist injuries. Without her knowledge of the proper strength training techniques I would not have fully recovered so quickly. As the seasons change my custom training program changes to fit the sport I am doing. Hillary is an amazing trainer, and great person to believe in you, push you to the next level, and be your friend.Looking back on the years that I participated in all activities, IF I WOULD HAVE HAD A PERSONAL TRAINER I would have been better at all my activities, and enjoyed them much more. The older we get we need to strength train to maintain flexibility, muscle strength, strong bones. GET STARTED WITH HILLARY.
Lorrie S, Eau Claire, WIAbout three years ago I lost over 100 pounds. During my weight loss process I did work out, mostly doing cardio and a little strength training. Just over a year ago I felt I needed to take my work out further to help me keep the weight off. That is when Hillary came into my life. She knew that I had worked very hard to get where I was and understood just where I needed to go. AND that I needed someone to push me that extra mile. She knows my limits and is always pushing just a little further each time to improve myself. Hillary is an amazing person, she always has smile on her face, she really cares about her clients and will always be your biggest fan. She wants to see us succeed as much as we do. She is playing a key part in helping me maintain my weight.

He keeps my workouts fresh and fun and is always introducing different equipment and different programs to work my muscle groups. If he sees that an exercise is too easy for me he adds another level to the exercise so I get the most from the workout and given the needed challenge. Stacy Anding, Eau Claire, WII needed to put value on my own fitness by investing in training sessions and keeping the appointments in order to get myself started. Being extremely out of shape and overweight by about 60 lbs, I knew I had accumulated my poor habits and weight over the course of several years, and it will take at least a year to change. Brent has been instrumental in helping motivate the mental changes that are occurring in me, in order to reach the physical changes I want to see and feel, and keep long term. He is only a positive and motivating support person full of a wealth of practical, applicable information, tips, and effective workouts. Unknown, Eau Claire, WIWorking out with a personal trainer has changed my body and attitude! I started working out with a trainer because of some back problems that caused daily pain. I wanted to make sure I was lifting properly to not hurt my back more. Not only have I reached goals in terms of weight/inches but my back has become so strong that I rarely ever have pain anymore. Having a set appointment with my trainer, Hillary, makes me never skip the gym. I also get nutritional information and encouragement from her. The one on one support is awesome! My confidence in myself and my body has improved so much with personal training. The rewards far outweigh the expense.
